Photo Contest

Two Divisions of Competition in each Division:

  • Professional (A professional is anyone who profits from their photography in any way)
  • Amateur

Four Categories of Entries:

  1. Military Aircraft
  2. Civilian Aircraft
  3. Military Historic
  4. The Air Show Experience

Entries: Maximum of three (3) entries per person per category. E-mail digital entries to photo@indyairshow.com. Mail entries to the Indy Air Show Office.

  • Be sure to include your name, address, city, state, zip, valid e-mail, phone, division, category, and caption
  • Print submissions must be a minimum of 5” x 7”.
  • Electronic submissions must be in JPEG or TIFF format. Images measuring at least 1,000 pixels on the long dimension are preferred. Digital media will be accepted by e-mail or on CD-R/W or DVD+/-RW media.

Deadline: All entries must be postmarked or submitted electronically by September 15, 2007.

Judging: Entries will be judged by the Indy Air Show Photography Staff. Winners will be announced by October 1, 2007

Awards: First, Second, Third, and Honorable Mention in each category. The first place winner in each category will win a complete AT&T digital cordless telephone package courtesy of QAM. Winning photos will be announced and shown on the Indianapolis Air Show website as well as on the official 2007 Indianapolis Air Show Souvenir DVD.

Entry Rules:

  • No entry fees are required
  • Submitted images must have been taken during the 2007 Indianapolis Air Show event week, and by the person making the submission
  • The Indianapolis Air Show will have the right to publish all images in print, video, and/or digital format at no cost
  • The photographer retains all rights for further use of the images
  • Members of the Indianapolis Air Show Photography Staff are not eligible
  • Submitted materials will not be returned
  • Be sure to include your name, address, city, state, zip, valid e-mail, phone, division, category, and caption
  • The Indianapolis Air Show is not responsible for the loss or damage of any entry
  • The decisions of the judges are final
  • Photos thought to be outside of the above criteria may be removed from consideration without the entrant being notified
  • No Photoshopping or other digital manipulation. This contest is about photography, not about one’s expertise with a graphical application. This does not apply to photographic techniques contained within a camera’s abilities (i.e. a manual shutter release used to capture moving aircraft), nor does it apply to cropping an image.
